Composition markets are TGE corn, FFE corn, CBOT corn and CBOT soybean
meal. The standard point is 100 which is equivalent to annual average prices
of those 4 commodities for one year of 1993 (TGE Corn=1,4349yen, FFE Corn=14,340yen,
CBOT Corn=262.70yen and CBOT soybean meal=21,800yen). In regard to CBOT
corn and soybean meal, the average prices have to be converted to Japanese
yen (use the middle price of the customer spot Telegraphic Transfer Selling
and Buying rates that Tokyo-Mitsubishi Bank announces first on a day concerned).
The index value is calculated by the following; divide the price of certain
day of those 4 commodity prices by the average price of each commodity,
then multiply those calculated numbers by 100 (round off the numbers to
the second decimal place), add those 4 numbers and divide by 4 (round off
the numbers to the first decimal place).
